IP Commercialisation along the Belt and Road

28 Aug 2017

IP has been globally recognised to stimulate innovation and creativity, leading to economic growth. IP is fundamental to Singapore’s own economic growth, and even more so, as Singapore builds a future economy that is driven by knowledge and innovation. Similarly, China who has become one of the key player in the global IP landscape, has identified innovation and IP as key to their future economic growth.

Chinese companies are increasingly venturing overseas to explore new markets and investments. These trends will accelerate under the “Belt and Road” initiative, which will further encourage Chinese companies to explore new markets. Southeast Asia, which includes the ASEAN ten member states, is a key growing market of more than 600 million people. Singapore, being part of ASEAN, is an important pivot along the Belt and Road Initiative and serves as an important hub connecting China to Southeast Asia and the rest of the world.

With the theme of “IP Commercialisation along the Belt and Road”, the half-day seminar, jointly organised by IPOS and SIPO, will focus on IP being the principle mechanism for commercialisation and exchange of technology along this 21st Century Silk Road. It will provide a platform for participants to hear insights and strategies on the latest IP trends and issues from Chinese IP legal practitioners, policy makers, business leaders and academia.

The following professionals are highly encouraged to attend:
