The Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law programme (GCIP) is a comprehensive foundation IP law course which provides the fundamental IP knowledge that is needed by aspiring IP professionals and practitioners for a career in the field of Intellectual Property.
This course is jointly organised by the IP Academy and the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore.
Successful completion of this certification course is one of the pre-requisites for admission onto the register of patent agents in Singapore.

This programme is designed for:
· graduates with a background in science & technology
· graduates in the business, finance and/or accounting industries with an interest to move into the field of intellectual/intangible assets management.
· law graduates or lawyers with an interest to specialise in IP
· marketing, branding and business strategists with an interest to specialise in IP
· mid-career professionals with any of the above qualification/s looking for a career move

Course Calendar
This is a 1 year part-time course, covering 2 semesters:
Part 1 - August to November
Tuesdays (6.30pm - 9.30pm)
Thursdays (6.30pm - 9.30pm)
Saturdays (9.30am - 12.30pm)

Admission Criterion
A good University degree. University students who will have completed their studies by the commencement of the course are also eligible to apply.
Course Fees
Singapore Citizens: S$11,235*
Singapore Permanent Residents: S$12,358.50*
International Students: S$14,605.50*
*Fees above are subjected to changes every year.
Application Fees of S$42.80(including GST) is applicable for each application. Application fees are to be paid via Cash/Cheque. All cheques should be crossed and made payable to “IP Academy”. Kindly write the course title at the back of the cheque.
Any application forms submitted without the application fee of S$42.80 will not be processed and will be considered as void.
Modularisation Track
To provide flexbility to students who may not be able to complete the programme within 1 year or are only interested to learn about certain modules of the programme, there are 2 alternative tracks avaliable.
Modularisation A (Mod A)
- Students are given 2 years and up to a maximum of 3 years to complete the programme
- the choice to select and register for up to 3 modules per year, with the exception that Special Topics would need to be taken as the last module.
- Fees are to be paid on a yearly basis before the start of Year 1 and 2
Fees per year (including GST):
Singaporean: S$6460.13
Singapore PR: S$7106.14
International Students: S$8398.16
Application deadline is the same as Normal GCIP track: 30 April 2013
Modularisation B (Mod B)
- Select and register for the course on a modular basis. Suitable for those who do not wish to take up the full GCIP course.
- Individual certificate will be provided upon passing of the examination for the module
- Students who complete all 5 modules within a period of 3 years, can inform IP Academy to qualify for a GCIP
Registration for Sem 1 modules will end on 30 April 2013
Registration for Sem 2 modules will end on 1 November 2013
